COVID-19, are you seeing patients face to face and is this safe?
What should I expect on my first visit and how long are the consultations?
What should I wear?
Wear something you can easily move in, usually you only need to remove socks and shoes so ladies try to avoid tights. I keep the clinic ventilated so please ensure you are warm enough.
Are the tests uncomfortable?
Should I avoid eating before my appointment?
Should I take my dizziness medication on the day of my appointment?
Please do not take dizziness medication on the day of your appointment. These are medications such as cennarizine, stemetil, stugeron or quells. They sedate the inner ear but can effect the results of my clinical tests. PLEASE DO NOT STOP TAKING YOUR OTHER MEDICINES. If you are unsure about whether to stop any of your medications or are unsure as to which ones are for dizziness please contact me to discuss this.
Am I ok to drive to my appointment?
If you suffer from dizziness, I may provoke your symptoms during my examination to evaluate the source of dizziness. In this case I would recommend you avoid driving. For all other conditions, if you would normally drive, please feel free to do so, there is parking at the clinic or on the street.
Is the clinic accessible?
There are 9 steps down to the lower-ground entrance to the clinic. There is a left rail descending but no wheel chair access nor lift. If you need to discuss any assistance please get in touch and we can discuss options.
